The scene opens inside of a familiar structure. Although it has only been seen in the darkest of light, there is no mistaking this building. It has been the site of some of the most unholy and sadistic prophecies ever uttered.
It's The Undertaker's Church.
This den of evil is lit only by twin torches, on either side of The Undertaker's throne. Behind the throne hangs a gigantic Undertaker Symbol. The pews that once stood have been moved aside, creating a much larger area. However, the table that was once used for Communion many years ago still stands, creating the only link to the church's past and its present. Two rather large stands full of candles are on the table.
The sound of a door slamming shut is heard. Suddenly, the candles light up. A large figure, cloaked in a hooded robe, enters the building and makes his way to the throne. The Undertaker pulls back his hood, and sits down.
Another figure enters the church. This one is dressed smilarly, in a black cloak. He approaches The Undertaker, and drops to one knee. This goes on a for a moment...
Undertaker: "Rise, Mortis."
Mortis stands up, brushing himself off.
Mortis: "Thanks."
Undertaker: "It would seem that our old friend Kidman still has a bit of fire burning inside of him. He has challenged you, Mortis. He wants his title back. Are you going to allow this to go unnoticed? Are YOU going to let this child continue to be able to breathe after all that he has done to you?"
Mortis: "Of course not! Kidman....you should've just drifted away. It would've been alright. I could have let you go. I proved my point at Rampage when I beat you for the United States Championship. You want a rematch? Fine...I'll give you a rematch at Genesis. But it's going to be a DEATH MATCH, Kidman. This time..I'm not just going to beat you once. I'm not going to give you an excuse. I'm gonna beat you THREE TIMES IN A ROW. And then.....that's IT! No more excuses. You're NOTHING without The Undertaker...and after Genesis, I'm done proving it to you!"
Undertaker: "You aren't proving that he's nothing without the powers of darkness, Mortis. The boy already knows that. You're proving YOURSELF...not to me...but to everyone else. For too long, you have been overlooked. Genesis is a very appropriate title for this pay-per-view. For at Genesis...Billy Kidman shall bear witness to the dawning of yet another unstoppable force in this industry.
Mortis, the time has arrived for you to step into the next level."
Mortis: "You hear that Kidman? DO YOU HEAR THAT?! At Genesis...I will OWN you. And no one......NO ONE will EVER overlook ME again."
Undertaker: "One thing that you should keep in mind, Mortis, is this....never allow your ego to run away with you. For it would be a true shame to suffer the same fate as our friend Eddy Guerrero has suffered. At Genesis, he is defending the World Heavyweight Title against a man that he has greatly underestimated.
Those, Eddy, who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. I learned long ago what Jarrett was capable of...and I never made the mistake of underestimating him again. Instead, I took him down a path straight to Hell...and when I finished him, he was never the same again. You, however....you are a failure.
Do you really believe that by taking his manager away you can defeat him? How effective do you think Tom Green is, anyway?
At Genesis, you will defend your title. Yet you will defend it WITHOUT the support of The Fatal Army. And you can rest assured that when that match has ended, you will be reminded of just how influential my powers are. For I am predicting that you will fail in your quest. If you seek to prove me wrong, you may try. However I doubt that you will succeed. You are a doomed man, Eddy. And the sad part is, you don't even realize it yet.
As for doomed men, that would bring me to The Big Show. My friend, you are hardly worth my time. However, at Genesis...I will take away from you that one thing that gives your career here in the FTR any legitimacy at all. The Extreme Title will be mine, Wight....and there's not a damned thing you can do about it.
And perhaps when the dust has settled...and you are left with nothing else...you will simply pack your bags and go home. Or perhaps, Wight.....perhaps I'll send you straight to Hell, and not even GIVE you the opportunity to walk away.
At Genesis, everyone will bear witness to the beginning of a yet another era of darkness. All of the pieces are coming into place....and quite soon, it will be The Undertaker that puts this organization into a humbling checkmate.
