A long time coming indeed...

We open in a backstage locker room. Billy Kidman may be found seated in the corner of the room, in the floor with his back to the wall. He is apparently occupied by deep thought. He sits with his knees drawn to his chest, and his arms draped across them. His hair is wet, and loose strands dangle in front of his face almost as bars of a cage. He breathes heavily, as if something has him agitated. The United States Championship rests in a chair a few feet away from him. He opens his eyes and looks at it, presenting a devilish grin that shows his teeth. He slowly stands, and walks towards it...picking it up. He places it around his waist, and then looks at himself in the mirror on the back of his door. He laughs quietly, and takes the belt off, placing it back in the chair.
Kidman begins to pace...his gaze is wild, and his face holds a smirk. He looks up suddenly and begins to speak in an untamed voice.
Kidman: "You seek redemption...HA!"
"Welcome to my world Mortis."
"You say that I was the reason you were held back for so long by the Undertaker. You were never around when I was in the picture. You fled for your life everytime at the mere mention of danger. When you feel threatened you tuck tail and haul ass for the nearest escape route. You are no threat to anyone, Mortis...you are simply an agitating annoyance that no one can seem to remain rid of for any elongated period of time."
"I have known you now for only a matter of a few weeks and already your nagging and whining has me wanting to plug my ears for all of eternity. You don't even have a real point to be making. You simply blow your rancid breath on the back of everyone's neck until they finally decide to confront you...and that is when you make your disappearance."
"I never held you back. The Undertaker never favored me either. He was not who gave me the chance to become world champion. He is far to greedy for that. If it were up to him, the world title would be his to hold. Had the FTR front office not had the power to make me number one contender, I would probably still be toiling around the intercontinental championship, never having achieved anything major in my career. He gave me no breaks...I made my own."
"I am not a weak mind that was put on this earth to simply be controlled. You, on the other hand, are under the spell of the Undertaker. You always have been, and I doubt that you will ever be able to free yourself from the bonds that bound your young mind. You are lost, as I was...only you are far too weak to ever find the right path. And for that reason, the Undertaker will lead you like a sheep in his flock to your doom."
"You have challenged me for the U.S. Title, not because you are confident in your abilities to defeat me, but because you are ancy in your craving to impress your master. You are in over your head already. You have never stood face to face with the likes of Kidman before. You have never felt the fury that I unleash against my opponent everytime I enter the ring. After Rampage has come and gone, and I have left you lying like I did last week...you never will want to again."
"I am no simple force that is to be reckoned with. And when it comes to dealings with the Fatal Army especially, I will show no mercy. The Undertaker cannot dodge me forever. You are simply one of his pawns, as he would agree...but he maneuvers not to take me out, but to hide himself. His pawns will only last for so long. Check mate is inevitable..."
