Temptations

We open just outside the Georgia Dome. Night has fallen and there is a chilled breeze in the air. Kidman sits on the concrete, with his back to the outer wall of the arena. He is garbed in his full wrestling apparel, as he is set to take action tonight against his former teammate. He stares up at the night sky, with apparently plenty racing through his mind. He cradles his chin in his arm in thought, as he gazes up at the black, cloudless heavens. The stars are out in full capacity. With each exhale, the former Fatal Army member's breath is visible...and as he continues to study the sky, he speaks to himself.
Kidman: "Temptations...temptations are for the weak, Mr. Guerrero. I told you flat out in my interview with Gene Okerlund that I wanted nothing to do with your championship belt. You claim that greed makes the world rotate...maybe in your world Eddy. I do not care for the petty things in life. A belt is not a measure of who I am and where I have come from. Your United States title could stay around your waist forever for all I care. Tonight, whether you elect to put that belt on the line or not, it is about you and I. Nothing more."
"I know you, Eddy. Your confidence and arrogant behavior is all a mask of what you are truly feeling. You failed to get the job done by losing the World Heavyweight Title to Rob Van Dam. Not only did you fail for yourself, but you failed for the Fatal Army. Now, you wish to erase any reminders of that failure to the rest of your peers by carrying out the wishes of the Undertaker, and putting out the fire that I have started by leaving the Fatal Army."
"I wanted to go peacefully. I wanted to spare you...I wanted to spare the Undertaker...I wanted to spare the Fatal Army. But you wouldn't let me ride off into the sunset. You shot the horse out from underneath me before I could cross the horizon and fade away. Now I'm pissed..."
"A fire inside has been lit. And when driven, there is not a force in the known universe that could stop me. To top everything, Eddy, you make the statement that 'Kidman can't win'. That is what you tell the world...but what are you telling yourself Eddy? I know you fear the enevitable already. You know who the better man is, Guerrero, and you realise your chances of making it out of Rampage with your United States championship. And you are afraid. Because without a title belt, you see yourself as nothing...and your peers see you as nothing. But tonight, I open the world's eyes to exactly that which you truly are...by taking your championship...I will make you nothing."
"Be prepared, Eddy...because my target is locked...and my finger rests on the trigger as we speak. I'm gunning for you...and I always shoot to kill."
"That, my friend...is certain."
Kidman slowly cllimbs to his feet and dusts himself off. He stretches for a moment and gives the constellations one lost gaze. He turns, and pushes open the double doors, re-entering the arena. The door slowly swings shut as the scene fades out.
