Is explanation necessary?
Posted by: Kidman on 12/03/2002 at 20:00

We open backstage, where we see Kidman for the first time in a few weeks. He is in his designated locker room unzipping his duffel bag. He reaches and and removes a black t-shirt. Upon unravelling the shirt we see that embedded on its chest is the symbol of the Undertaker...the universal symbol of the Fatal Army. Kidman stares at it for a few seconds, shaking his head negatively, before looking up and noticing the camera that has entered his locker room. He calms his nerves for a few moments, takes a deep breath, and in a voice just slightly less commanding than what we are used to, begins to speak.

Kidman: "Is another explanation truly necessary? For years I waged war alongside the most destructive man ever to step foot inside an arena. I have layed everything in my career on the line for that one man and for his cause. I served as his apprentice, but as I reflect back upon it today, I served more as an accomplice."

"Without the Undertaker, my career would be in shambles still. He is the reason people began to take notice of me. He is the reason I was able to achieve any clout in the FTR amongst the most elite wrestlers in the world. My role as the Undertaker's underling took me to new heights...it even led me to a short reign as FTR World Heavyweight Champion. Few can take credit for that achievement."

"But things have gotten far out of hand. This evil charade has got to come to an end. I played too pivotal of a role for too many sick events...I mean, I almost aided in the Undertaker cutting out Tom Green's heart on national television! I have gotten in way over my head, and before I dig myself into a deeper hole, I had to escape. I can no longer be a dark force in the FTR."

"But with this announcement comes my denouncement. I should have expected it I guess. I shed my blood, my sweat, my everything for all of the Fatal Army. Eddy Guerrero, our tag team was the most dominant of an era, but now, since I chose to liberate myself from the "anti-Christ" label that followed me everyday no matter where I went, you say I should fear you? Whether you realise it or not, I am loyal. Even to the Undertaker...though I do not agree with the path he has chosen. But hatred is the only response that I have received since my announcement."

"Well, Eddy...you can hate me, but you won't stop me. Maybe you are forgetting just who it is you are talking to. I may not be that sadistic, satanic character from the past that went around begging to make people bleed and for the world to feel the pain that I have had to feel. But I am still a damned tough competitor, and I am still a man that strikes fear in the hearts of most men. I am one of the brightest talents that the FTR has ever seen, and if it comes down to it, which it seems to have, I can defend myself."

"No, I do not fear you Eddy Guerrero, and I do not fear the Undertaker either. I have been his apprentice for years, and I know he is capable of a lot...but I am capable of just as much, if not more. I know the Undertaker better than anyone that has ever stood against him. I did not walk away from the FTR out of defiance, I did it for myself. I can't continue to live my life like this."

Kidman wads up the T-shirt and tosses it to the floor.

"Some may say that without the Undertaker, I am nothing. I say let the world beleive what they wish...let Eddy Guerrero and the Undertaker beleive what they wish. Just know this...I still am Billy Kidman...period."

With that, a much more worked up Billy Kidman exits the locker room area. The scene fades to black.
