While The Undertaker has placed his interests in The Big Show....Eddie Guerrero..and the future of The Fatal Army, Mortis has other interests in mind.
Namely, Billy Kidman.
Mortis sits alone in a dark corner in an unidentifiable area. His face is resting in his hands...he seems to be deep in thought. And what thoughts could run through the mind of such a troubled individual? What thoughts could run through the mind of a man who bows to The Undertaker like a God?
Redemption.
Once the tag team partner of The Undertaker...once his most trusted ally, Mortis was knocked down when The Fatal Army began to expand. He found his old spot being taken by someone else. A great, promising young athlete that The Undertaker had taken an interest in.
Billy Kidman.
The Undertaker trained Kidman, made him a ruthless killing machine....made him a World Champion...and what about Mortis? He found himself in and out of the FTR, with a smaller and smaller role each time.
But now...now the time has come. He already holds one win over Kidman....now his has the opportunity to cement that win...to prove to the world that it is HIS time.
Mortis raises his head, and begins to speak.
Mortis: "Kidman....it's not about The Fatal Army anymore. It's not about The Undertaker. It's not even about the United States Title. It's about you...and it's about me. It's about Chris Kanyon and it's about Billy Kidman.
You know, we're very similar if you stop to think about it. The critics..the 'smart' fans claimed that WCW was mistreating us. I was either a part of the Men at Work tag team, or feuding with a video game character. You were either jobbing to whoever they could find in Mexico or pretending to have a rash. Yeah Billy, we both got dealt pretty raw deals when we were coming up.
BUT I GOT IT WORSE THAN YOU DID!
Because Kidman...I was THE MAN. I was The Undertaker's TOP PICK! I was his RIGHT HAND man. That man knew I had talent, and he knew I had the ability..and he took me under his wing and I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HIS PROTEGE!
But instead YOU show up...and you do a few flips and you impress him, and the next thing I know you've got Taker practically handing you THE WORLD...
And then...then you turn your back on all of it?
Well FUCK YOU, Kidman.
I beat you at Rampage..I took your belt..I SHOWED EVERYONE that I was better than you! BECAUSE I AM BETTER THAN YOU! I WAS MAKING MY BONES WHEN YOU WERE DATING CHEERLEADERS! And at Genesis...
At Genesis it's all gonna be worth it. Because at Genesis, Kidman...I'm gonna beat you THREE TIMES IN A ROW! I will OWN you in that deathmatch....and when it's all said and done...I'm STILL gonna have your title....along with your pride...your respect...and dammit..I'm gonna have YOUR SPOT.
