The lights in the arena flicker and go out. A solemn bell tolls, and a blue spotlight his the entryway. The Undertaker's old guitar riff begins to play...and with an explosion of pyro, his fast paced music kicks in. Mortis and The Undertaker step out from the curtains into the spotlight. They make their way down the aisle and to the ringside area. Mortis slides in the ring and goes up top, while The Undertaker ascends the ring steps, raises his hands, and causes the lights to come back on. As Taker enters the ring, Mortis gets a microphone. The music stops, and the US Champion begins to speak.
Mortis: "Eddy...Eddy...Eddy, you can make it alone? Can you really? I'm going to be honest with you, my friend...I seriously doubt that. You should learn by example....look at Kidman. Once, he was feared. Once, he was a CHAMPION. But now...instead of people hearing the name Kidman and being overcome with fear..now they're overcome with the image of a piece of SHIT. Because that's ALL he was when he turned his back on The Fatal Army."
The Undertaker glares at Mortis, and takes the microphone from him.
Undertaker: "You have always been a very vocal individual, Mortis. However...I believe that you should allow me to address this situation. You see, it was I who brought Guerrero into the Army....and unlike you, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
"You see Eddy, I know you're a very talented performer. I know what it is that you're capable of inside of the ring. The World Heavyweight Championship that you hold is a testament to that. You went one-on-one with an FTR legend..and you triumped. You are a champion......
"And you are a member of The Fatal Army.
"I've seen men who allowed their egos to get the better of them quite often, Guerrero. It would be a grave error for you to make that same mistake. You think that Jarrett is a shell of his former self?
"Eddy...you are mistaken.
"Jeff Jarrett is a very capable man. I have waged wars with Jarrett that will never be forgotten. I put that man through Hell and back, Eddy...and the fact that he is still breathing is a testament to his fortitude. Perhaps our battles have left him a shattered man...but he still wins matches, Eddy. Completing the Iron Man Challenge is an extraordinary task.
"However, I'm not here to sing the praises of Jeff Jarrett. I'm here to address you Eddy.
"At Rampage, you will team up with Mortis to face Booker T and The Big Show. Allow me to repeat myself. You WILL team up with Mortis to face those two infidels. Mortis and you WILL work as a singular unit to destroy and embarass them. To make sure of this...I will be at ringside.
"And should Jarrett win his match and complete the Iron Man challenge..you WILL face him at the pay-per-view for the World Title. And should you fail....
"We may just see how well you operate on your own, boy.
"And that, Eddy, is not a threat. That is a promise. If you want to try me, Guerrero....why don't you take a look back and see what happened when Jeff Jarrett, as my Chosen One, failed me. Do you wish to know the reason that Jarrett is such an embarassment?
"I...am the reason."
The Undertaker hands the microphone back to Mortis.
Mortis: "Whew....I'll tell ya, Taker...you have a way of putting things into perspective. I'd be willing to bet you right now that after hearing that, Eddy is one hundred percent on our side. I guess I can understand him, you know. He is the champion..and being the champion feels pretty damned good. Speaking of champions....gee.....don't I have a title?
"Why yes! Yes I do. That title would be the UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP! And where did that title come from? Why...Billy Kidman! And where is Billy Kidman now? NO ONE SEEMS TO FUCKING KNOW!!
"Look at you Billy...you're pathetic. Why don't you at least pull your head out of that hole you've buried it in and address the people? Why don't you admit that you were wrong? Hell, why don't you just go ahead and retire? You've got nothing left. The Undertaker handed you the world...and you threw it away. You make me fucking sick.
"You know..forget that. If you so much as show your face on FTR TV again, I'm going to make the beating I gave you last time look like a sixth grade backyard wrestling match. If you show your face again....I'm going to tear your throat out."
Mortis drops the microphone and raises his arms before making his way to the back alongside The Undertaker.
